GEG Express External RAID
As is known, RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) is a set of hard discs, combined into one disc system to provide fault tolerance. There are several ways to organize RAID, called levels.
Different RAID levels provide different performance and fault tolerance, consequently they have different costs. RAID-arrays for relatively inexpensive systems are mounted directly into the system cabinet. More serious systems usually require external RAID-arrays.
Their distinctive feature is that external RAID-array is recognized by any SCSI adapter as a standard device with hard disc characteristics. GEG Express RAID external RAID-array is completely independent of the operating system and can operate with any SCSI-interfaced system, for example, with GEG Express servers.
